Take Me Home
As expected with a Kimm Barnes book, the action is fast paced and exciting. Both my grandchildren, 4 and 6, were intrigued by Alex, a boy who could fix a robot, get on a flying saucer and fly into outer space! The drawings support the action and all the characters move through the narrative in a vivid manner. I especially liked the way the colors in space contrasted with the colors back on earth.
Flying on a trip to outer space and making friends with the creatures you meet along the way, is something all children find entertaining and secretly would like to do themselves!

The Big Search
My three grandchildren are delighted with Kimm Barnes's book, “The Big Search”. Ainsley, the 4 year old, holds the book close to her heart and declares this is my favorite book! She loves Carl and the snow globes! This is grandchild tested and is a favorite!

Each night before bedtime, my wife and I read a book to our two girls, ages 4 and 7. They take turns picking which book to read, and The Big Search is a regular choice. Both girls love the adventure Carl goes on and loves the imagination of each snow globe stop along the way. They also enjoy looking at the masterful illustrations in the book. Our 7 year old just finished first grade, and this is a book she is able to read to us with ease.

If you are looking for a book for your child, that is imaginative and colorful that makes you want to learn to read, then this is it! The visuals have a great way of drawing you in. My granddaughter easily learned ten new words her first time reading “The Big Search.” And then she came back later to re-read the book.

What's Under Jack's Bed
“What’s under Jack’s Bed?” is a great bedtime story for children of all ages. Both of my grandchildren in Sweden just love this book! Ebba, who is 3 and doesn’t normally like any scary stories, especially ones with monsters, quickly became enthralled with the characters in Jack’s book, and then both relieved and delighted by its happy ending. Maria, age 4, loved Jack and his talking toys, and even the monsters. She was especially fascinated by all of the wonderful illustrations in this book, which sparked her own very vivid imagination.
Jack’s story is now one of their favorite books and I have a feeling it will continue to be for a long time to come.

What's Under Jack's BedJack really enjoys sharing the book with his younger brothers. There was an argument about who looked more like your “book Jack”. Hudson. sitting second from right, thinks book Jack looks more like him. He’s 7, and you definitely hit the target market with him! The pictures also make Hudson want to draw monsters! He also wanted you to know he loved “The Big Search”! (He saw your photo on the back.)
I love giving my grandchildren your books, especially because the art is so unique and creative, like a child’s imagination. --Theresa, AZ |
